Details required :. Cancel Submit. The download was successful, but when I launched Word there was an error bar at the top indicating that I had an unlicensed copy and none of the editing features were available. I selected the ‘Activate online’ but that did not work either. Reaching out to support via the Help bot was useless. I was able to edit a document using Word online and saved in OneDrive, but I need the resident copy to work. Does anyone have a solution? Most grateful, thank you.
In reply to Joseph A. Youngblood’s post on August 11, It was purchased by a friend who is a current Microsoft employee. The initial download and install on my original laptop was successful. I was unable to locate a phone number for support, I used the ‘Help’ function, which led me to a bot. If you know of a phone number for support, please provide it, thank you.

Your Office Account will have been created when you installed Office This is not an unusual event, Office was the first version of Office linked to a Microsoft Account and it was also possible to install it without using a Microsoft Account, which meant there was no way of reinstalling it.
You can try contacting a Microsoft Agent, make sure that your problem is listed as ‘installation’. PS: Sorry if it was not the tech who installed your Office, then you could not have associated it with a Microsoft Account, otherwise your Office would be at the Office Account.
